Planning a Corporate Event in San Ramon? Here's How KHAKI Handles It

Most corporate events start the same way. Someone in the office gets assigned the job of finding a venue. They scroll through Google, open six tabs, close four of them, and end up calling the same hotel banquet room they used last year. The food is fine. The room is beige. Nobody talks about it the next day.

That cycle is exactly what we set out to break when we built the corporate events program at KHAKI.

We're a modern Indian restaurant at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon (more about KHAKI), and we've become the go-to spot for businesses across the Tri-Valley that want something more interesting than a hotel conference room with a buffet tray. Corporate events here don't look or feel like corporate events anywhere else, and that's by design.

What a Corporate Event at KHAKI Actually Looks Like

Let's get specific, because "corporate event" can mean a lot of things.

If you're organizing a quarterly team dinner for 15 to 20 people, you'll probably book our semi-private dining room (see all private dining options). It seats 14 to 30, comes with a dedicated server, and gives your group enough privacy that your manager can make a speech without the whole restaurant listening. It's a prix fixe tasting format built by our chefs specifically for your event. Not a preset banquet menu from a binder. An actual menu that changes with the season.

For bigger events, say a department gathering or a client appreciation night for 40 to 75 people, we reserve a full section of the restaurant. You still get the atmosphere and energy of KHAKI's dining room, but with coordinated service and a customized food and bar program.

And for the big ones, holiday parties, company anniversaries, product launches, up to 125 guests, we do full restaurant buyouts. Your company gets the entire venue. The dining room, the bar, the outdoor patio, everything. For that night, KHAKI is yours.

The Indian Tasting Menu That Changes Everything About Corporate Dining

Here's why companies keep rebooking with us, and it comes down to the food.

Chefs Sujan and Pujan Sarkar run our kitchen. Pujan earned a Michelin star (read about KHAKI as a fine dining Indian restaurant) at Indienne in Chicago before coming to San Ramon. The menu is regional Indian food made with California produce, served family style. Ragda pani puri to start, then mains like butter chicken (explore the full KHAKI menu), coconut curry roast gobi, bone-in saag chicken, and the lamb shank biryani that Diablo Magazine wrote about. Desserts like gulab jamun creme brulee and rasmalai tres leches.

For a corporate event, this format does something that a steakhouse or Italian restaurant can't. It gets people talking. When dishes are shared and passed around the table, conversations happen naturally. People try things they wouldn't have ordered on their own. The food becomes a talking point rather than background noise, and that's exactly what you want at a team dinner or a client event.

Dietary restrictions don't create separate menus here. Indian cuisine has centuries of plant-based cooking in its foundation. Vegetarian guests eat the same caliber dishes as everyone else. Vegan, gluten-free, and halal options exist within the regular menu. Your event planner doesn't need to juggle three different orders.

The Bar Program Your Team Will Remember

We hear it all the time from corporate event organizers: nobody asked about the bar beforehand, but it's what everyone talked about afterward.

KHAKI's bar runs Indian-inspired cocktails that most of your guests won't have tried anywhere else. One standout, the Pushpa Aunty, combines panch phoron (Indian five-spice) with tequila and grapefruit. Another favorite, the AK Old Fashioned, uses chai-spiced bourbon. There's a saffron lemon drop, a spicy mirch margarita, and a cocktail program built on Indian gin, house-made syrups, and spice infusions.

For corporate events, we set up a curated selection of four to five cocktails plus wine, beer, and a full mocktail menu. That last part matters more than you'd think. Somewhere between 30 and 40 percent of our corporate event guests choose non-alcoholic drinks, and we treat those options as real drinks, not afterthoughts. The tamarind spritz and mango lassi mocktail both get reordered constantly.

Open bar with a capped budget? Done. Per-drink billing? Done. Wine pairings by the course? Also done.

Your coordinator handles the bar setup so you don't have to.

Why Bishop Ranch Companies Book KHAKI Over Hotels and Conference Centers

San Ramon has options for corporate events. The Marriott has meeting rooms. Wedgewood Events at San Ramon Waters handles bigger gatherings. Conference centers exist.

So why do companies at Bishop Ranch keep booking a restaurant instead?

Three reasons.

First, restaurants create better memories than meeting rooms. Nobody at your company tells their friends about the last event they attended in a hotel ballroom. But people absolutely talk about the time their team dinner had a Michelin-caliber Indian tasting menu with cocktails made from Indian gin and saffron. Food becomes a story, and stories build culture.

Second, the location can't be beat. KHAKI sits on the second floor of City Center Bishop Ranch, steps from the office parks where 30,000 professionals work. Your team can walk over. Clients drive in and park for free in the City Center garage. Nobody spends an hour in traffic getting to San Francisco for dinner, and everyone gets home at a reasonable hour.

Third, we handle the planning. When you book a corporate event at KHAKI, you get a dedicated event coordinator who manages the menu, the bar, the timeline, the seating layout, and any special requests. You don't become an event planner on top of your actual job. Two or three planning calls and the whole thing is dialed in.

How Booking Works and What It Costs

Call (925) 359-6794 or email manager@wearekhaki.com. Start your event inquiry here. Tell us the date, the approximate headcount, whether you're thinking lunch or dinner, and any initial ideas. We'll get back to you within 24 hours.

Pricing runs per person, typically $75 to $150 depending on the menu tier and bar package. Lunch events start at the lower end. No separate room rental fee for the semi-private dining room. Full buyout pricing depends on the date and guest count. A deposit holds your date.

For weekday events, two to three weeks of notice is usually enough. October through December fills up fast because every Bishop Ranch company books holiday celebrations at the same time. If your corporate event falls in Q4, start the conversation early.

We serve lunch Wednesday through Saturday and dinner Monday through Sunday. Corporate events can be scheduled during regular hours or arranged as exclusive-access bookings.

Who Books Corporate Events at KHAKI

Tech companies and biotech firms at Bishop Ranch are our most frequent corporate event clients. They run quarterly team dinners, client lunches, and product milestone celebrations. Several companies have us on a recurring schedule.

Financial services and consulting firms use us for client entertainment where the food needs to make an impression. Law firms and accounting practices in Danville and Walnut Creek drive over for partner dinners and holiday events.

HR teams and people ops departments book milestone celebrations: promotions, welcome lunches for new hires, retirement toasts, and farewell gatherings.

What do they all have in common? They're all San Ramon or Tri-Valley businesses that realized they don't need to drive to San Francisco for a corporate event that actually impresses people.

The Space

KHAKI's design was done by Curryfwd, a Kolkata-based studio. The interior references 1960s and 70s post-colonial India with warm textures, clean lines, and muted earth tones. It doesn't look like any other restaurant near San Ramon, which is part of why it works for corporate events. The space photographs well, feels polished enough for clients, and relaxed enough that your team doesn't sit stiff all night.

City Center Bishop Ranch also has Slanted Door, LB Steak, Delarosa, and Alora Social nearby, so if you're exploring san ramon restaurants for future events, you've got options all in one complex. But for corporate events specifically, KHAKI is the one that keeps getting rebooked because the food format works better for groups than a standard restaurant menu.

We're near THE LOT Cinema and Alexander Square at City Center, so guests can grab coffee before the event or catch a movie after. It turns a corporate event into an evening out, which people appreciate more than you'd expect.

Why Choose KHAKI for Your Next Corporate Event

There are conference centers and hotel ballrooms all over San Ramon. Here's why Bishop Ranch companies pick a restaurant instead, and why they pick this one.

Michelin-trained chefs cook your event. Pujan Sarkar earned a Michelin star at Indienne in Chicago. His brother Sujan has 22 years of experience across three continents. Your corporate event gets the same kitchen that earned press coverage in Diablo Magazine, Haute Living SF, and FSR Magazine. That's not something a hotel catering team can match.

The menu changes with the seasons. Corporate teams that book quarterly events don't get the same plates repeated. The chefs rotate dishes based on what's available from Bay Area farms. Your Q2 dinner looks different from your Q4 holiday party, and your guests notice.

Indian cuisine handles every dietary need naturally. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal. These aren't modifications bolted onto a Western menu. They're built into how Indian food has been cooked for centuries. One menu covers your entire group without anyone feeling singled out.

The cocktail program stands on its own. Indian gin, house-made spice infusions, saffron, chai bourbon. Your team tries drinks they've genuinely never had before, and the bar becomes the highlight of the evening.

A dedicated coordinator runs the event. You don't become an event planner on top of your day job. One person handles the menu, bar, timeline, seating, and every detail so you can focus on your guests.

Free parking, walkable from Bishop Ranch offices. City Center Bishop Ranch has a garage and surface lots. Your team walks from the office. Clients drive in without circling for parking. Nobody starts the evening frustrated.

Areas Khaki Indian Restaurant Serve for Corporate Events

KHAKI hosts corporate events for businesses across the Tri-Valley and wider East Bay. Most of our corporate clients come from San Ramon and Bishop Ranch, but we regularly host teams driving in from Danville (8 minutes south), Dublin (10 minutes west), Pleasanton (12 minutes), and Walnut Creek (15 minutes north). Companies from Livermore, Fremont, Oakland, and Berkeley also book with us when they want a corporate dining venue that's easier to reach than San Francisco.

Our location at City Center Bishop Ranch puts us in the geographic center of the Tri-Valley. For a team with members spread across multiple East Bay cities, San Ramon is the meeting point where nobody drives more than 20 to 25 minutes. That's a practical detail, but it's the kind of thing that increases attendance at your corporate event and gets people there in a good mood rather than stressed about traffic.
